There are some essential commodities which have been covered under Targeted Public Distribution System(TPDS)

Rice and SugarRice and sugar directly available for the consumer in State, there are government authorized shops where you get it from the Godown of food grain and lowest price shop, or MPCS., by using Ration card.
Blue Dyed Kerosene (SK oil)The oil available by oil companies, which has been secured by Dealers, and available in FPS, or any other retail shop.
Wheat and Iodised SaltWhole food with Ata and iodized salt is available for people in the APL category, and this can be used by candidate assistance in FPI stores or other state government appointed stores and agents.

Function of Food and Civil supplies Department

The portal of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies has a number of functions, through which it helps people. Some of the main functions are listed in the following table:

  • The state government has provided fair-price shops(FPS) or authorized government stores, MPCS and Consumer Co-operative Societies (CCS).
  • All the transportation, storage and distribution of food grains is done through the government in the state.
